St Stephen's Institute for Management Excellence (SSIME), at St Stephen's College, Delhi University (DU), which was launched in the month of August, conducted the first module of the Accelerated Development Programme (ADP) for mid-career professionals, on October 21.
A total of 17 applicants who attended the first module of the programme found it useful. Nitin Kumar from Indian Oil Corporation, one of the participants , said, "My company nominated me to participate in this programme to upgrade my managerial skills. I found a lot of scope for learning and upgrading my skills."
Ahmad Yousef Al Hassan, assistant group treasurer, DP World in Dubai, chose this course to become a better leader. He said, "I am confident that I will upgrade my managerial skills, which is essential to sustain growth in any company."
Valson Thampu, principal, St Stephen's College, says that though the college does not have a business or management programme, it is beginning to look at possible options. "The college encourages the ADP programme since the need for worldclass business and entrepreneurship education has become increasingly critical. SSIME is our response to that need," he added
