Ahead of the 99th Indian Science Congress slated to be held here from January 3, 2012, a novel 'Bigyan Rath' would roll out from tomorrow to make common people and students aware of the mega event in all the 30 districts of Odisha.
'Bigyan Rath' is scheduled to start from Khandapada in Nayagarh district, birth place of famous 'Odiya' Astronomer Pathani Samanta.
To be inaugurated by Odisha Governor M C Bhandare, the 'Rath' aims at spreading the message about science, Science Congress, popularisation of the discipline and will help mould scientific temperament among the masses.
It will make common people and students aware of Indian Science Congress (ISC) being held at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) here from January 3 to 7, KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta said.
The 'Rath' will take 20 days to cover all 30 districts, touch more than 600 educational institutes (20 school colleges in each district) of Odisha and will reach Cuttack on December 3.
To popularise the Science Congress among students of different educaional institutions of Odisha, an essay and quiz competition has also been organized by KIIT.
On December 3, the winners of state level essay and quiz competition will be awarded.
