Bench takes serious note of negligent attitude of TRB

Madras High Court bench took serious note of the "improper and negligent" attitude of the Teachers' Recruitment Board in issuing the selection list and directed it to explain the confusion which forced a candidate to approach the Court with a writ petition.

Justice T Raja recorded the submission of the Government Advocate that there had been inadvertent mistake by the Board in issuing the selection list and asked the board to file a detailed report and also keep one post vacant.

Petitioner A Perumal submitted that he passed MA (Economics)in 1992 and B.Ed (with english and Social Studies) in 1995 from Annamalai university and registered with the employment exchange at Madurai. As per the Government Order issued on Dec 21, 2009, he was fully eligible for appointment in Middle school.

He sought a direction to the Assistant Director, District Employment Office, to include his name and sponsor his name for recruitment of B.T.Assitant. The court also ordered that he be sponsored if he was otherwise qualified.

The director of Employment and Training replied to him on July 15 this year that his name had been forwarded. He was directed to appear for certificate verification, given a roll number and told he would be receiving the appointment order.

But when the results were announced in the first of week of September, he found his roll number had been given in the list and another person's name had been included against it.

His efforts to seek clarification with the recruitment board office did not bear fruit, he said and prayed that the court direct the board to give appointment order on the basis of the Aug 3 order.
