Enrolment in NCC will open up windows of opportunities'

Khammam-based 11 Andhra NCC Battalion has sanctioned six sub-units in new educational institutions in Khammam and Sattupalli divisions.

The move is all set to enable around 300 students of two colleges and four schools in the two divisions get themselves enrolled in the NCC and undergo training in a wide-spectrum of nation-building activities. The battalion has a sanctioned strength of 3,150 cadets spread in 32 educational institutions across the district.

“Enrolment in the NCC would open up windows of opportunities for the students to imbibe discipline, develop multifarious skills and transform themselves into integrated personalities of nation building,” said Lt. Col. J K Sarma, Commanding Officer, 11 Andhra Battalion NCC, Khammam.

“Apart from excelling in the diverse training programmes, our cadets earned a niche for themselves in spearheading awareness on a wide gamut of social issues including environment protection besides promoting the vibrant cultural heritage of the district,” he said.

“Youth particularly the students from rural and tribal pockets are evincing keen interest to join the NCC as a means to develop their personality and excel in life,” said RJC Degree and PG College secretary and correspondent G. Krishna.

“It is a matter of pride for the college to be associated with 11 Andhra NCC Battalion,” he remarked adding that the NCC training helps the students become responsible and resourceful citizens capable of building a strong India.
