Four students from Andhra Pradesh have won laurels in the just concluded 11th SIP International Prodigy Competition 2011 held in Kualalampur in Malaysia.
Out of seven kids from Andhra pradesh four emerged victorious-A K Slakshnu (Kakinada) Praveek Trivedi (Hyderabad) Subhra Jyoti Mishra(Kakinada) and Aravind Mohan Das (Kakinada).
Slakshnu, a fifth standard student from Aditya School in Kakinada emerged the third runner up in the senior category while another nine-year-old Arvind Mohan Das from sixth grade was the second runner up in Foundation level-3.
Subhra Jyoti Mishra, a seventh standard student of Akshara School Kakinada participated in Level 5 in the competition and registered victorious in the competition.
About 475 children from 18 countries from across the world such as Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Tanzania, UAE, Cambodia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand competed in the competition. These 475 kids were the best of the best brainy children emerged victorious in their country level competitions.
Of the 37 member Indian contingent, which participated in the contest, 15 students emerged victorious and got prizes.
These Indian Whizkids shined in Abacus & Brain Gym Competition. Over the last few years kids from Andhra Pradesh have been repeating their feat. Though it is strenuous and expensive to participate in these international meets, our students have been able to manage and participate repeatedly and shine at every major international competition, said Sampath Kumar, State Head of SIP Academy-Andhra Pradesh.
