All Private Unaided Medical Colleges and Deemed Universities Association secretary, Ahmed Ashfaq Karim described as a "conspiracy" the Medical Council of India's notification amending the regulations for holding a combined National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test for admission for MBBS and PG courses in all the medical colleges in the country.
Reffering to the meeting of the office bearers of the Assocation and private Universities held in New Delhi, Karim said the meeting discussed the details of the notifications issued by the NCI for holding NEET for admission in the MBBS and PG courses in medical colleges in India.
"The move of NEET is a conspiracy with private coaching centres which is a huge commercial teaching industry in the country", he said.
As per the Indian constitution, the MCI regulation would be encroachment of the fundamental right as enshrined in article 30(1) and 19 of the constitution.
The meet also discussed the legal aspects and validity of the notifications and taking up of the matter with the competent authorities of the Central Government for the withdrawal of said amendments in MCI regulations, Karim said.
