IT firm iGATE Patni has extended its multi-million dollar contract with The Mosaic Company to provide global service desk support in English, Latin American and Asia-Pacific languages.
In line with the joint initiative of iGATE Patni and Mosaic, the engagement is expected to generate additional jobs in Pensacola centre, which employs more than 200 people, the IT firm said in a statement.
Integrated Technology and Operations (iTOPS) brand iGATE Patni that provides business outcomes-based solutions, has extended this contract, it added.
However, the company did not disclose the financial details of the contract.
As part of the global service desk support engagement, iGATE Patni will provide multi-lingual support in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Mandarin through its global delivery centres, the statement added.
iGATE Patni will leverage its delivery centre in Pensacola, Florida to deliver English language support to Mosaic worldwide users.
The deal will help improve Mosaic's IT performance to business, it said.
"In line with our joint vision, this engagement will create employment opportunities in the US. The deal also reflects increasing globalisation of services requiring smart-sourcing and hybrid delivery models," iGATE Patni Head of Sales for North America Robert Massie said.
The Mosaic Company is a producer and marketer of concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients, with 7,700 people worldwide, distribution facilities in 10 countries and servicing customers in 30 countries.
