Merit cum Means based Scholarships to Minority Communities Students
20,000 Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for Students Belonging to Minority Communities are awarded by the Government of India every year. Minority Category candidates belonging to Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and-Parsis pursuing technical or professional courses at under graduate/post graduate level in an institution recognized by an appropriate authority, are eligible to apply for merit-cum-means based scholarships.
These scholarships are available for studies in India only for technical and professional undergraduate & postgraduate courses in engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management, arts, design, medical, paramedical, veterinary, CA, ICWA, CS and law.
You are eligible to apply for the minorities scholarship if you have got admission in a recognized college/institution to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive exam. Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to pursue technical/professional courses, without facing any competitive examination, will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly by merit. A scholarship holder under this scheme will not available of any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course. The total annual family income of the beneficiary/parents or guardians of the beneficiary should not be more than Rs 2.50 lakh per annum.
