Scholarship for students walking long distances to school

Students trekking long distances in the rugged terrain of this hilly state in search of education, now have a reason to cheer.
 
Children clocking more than five kilometres to reach school will now be paid a scholarshi, the Himachal government has decided.
 
Giving the information, Chief Minister PK Dhumal today said Protsahan Scholarship ranging between Rs 200 to 300 per month would be given to such students, at a BJP function at Nahan.
 
The Chief Minister also said Rs 56 crore has been sanctioned to supply safe drinking water to Nahan Town and work on it would be started soon.
