United States-based Educational Testing Services (ETS) — the non-profit organisation responsible for conducting GRE and TOEFL examinations across the globe — will be giving away the TOEFL-2011 scholarships to meritorious students here on Thursday.
According to an ETS spokesperson, the TOEFL scholarship was initiated in 2010 and this will be the second year on the trot that the awards will be given to Indian students. ETS will be extending nine scholarships to Indian students depending on their TOEFL score and their academic track record.
The top three scholars will receive $10,000 each for further studies in the U.S., the U.K. or Canada and the next six will get $5,000 each as scholarship money.
The scholarships will be awarded to the nine students by the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of ETS Walt Mac Donald at a function at Worli.
