The American Alumni Association (AAA) recently held the ‘Scholars Abroad Program”, an initiative which offers grants to talented, but needy students, to pursue postgraduate study in the United States.
This year the AAA, by the way of grants, awarded scholarships worth Rs15 lakhs to fifteen students, after conducting a rigorous selection process. These students will join top US universities to pursue their higher education.
The dignitaries present at this event organised at the American Center included, Dr Indu Shahani - Sheriff of Mumbai, David Tyler – Chief Consular Mumbai, US Consulate, Harshal Shah, Rohita Doshi, Nadir Godrej, MD Godrej Industries Limited, Dr Rati Godrej and Mudit Jain, President DCW limited and Kishore Mehta, MD, ABOK Group.
The AAA is a non-profit global body that represents and promotes the interests of individuals who have studied in the United States of America and those who aspire to study there. President of The American Alumni Association, Harshal Shah, also the CEO of Reliance Venture Asset Management said, “The American Alumni Association is committed to ensuring that deserving and high-potential students are able to leverage their skills and inherent academic strengths to explore opportunities outside of India. Through our generous donors, we help such students circumvent their financial challenges and follow their dreams of advanced studies. Many of the courses that the students have selected are not available in India; through this programme they are able to pursue programmes that suit not only their capabilities but their aspirations as well.”
