1.Monthly scholarship to study Ph.D in Mathematics is given by University Grants commission (UGC)
The candidates who are qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) through National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted by Central Science & Technical Research Council are eligible to avail this scholarship.
2.The National Board for Higher Mathematics functioning under Atomic Department under central Government, provides scholarship to Ph.D students in Mathematics.
This scholarship is meant for 4 years. The candidates can get Rs.16,000/- per month in the first 2 years and Rs.18000/- per month for the other two years. Besides an annual contingency fund of Rs.20,000/- will be given. Based on this, House Rent Allowances will be given depending upon the amount of scholarship.
The selected candidates for this scholarship have to join for PhD in Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Tharamani, Chennai.
The candidates will be selected based on the Entrance Test and subsequent personal Interview.
The candidate, who have passed their M.Sc (Maths) in I class are eligible to apply for the admissions, in the academic year 2015-2016.
The Entrance Examinations will be conducted on 24.06.2015 in the centres Cochin, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore.
The candidates who are qualified as on August 2015 or before are eligible to apply.
