University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School is offering up to six fully funded PhD studentships

The University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School is offering up to six fully funded PhD studentships (fees and bursary) for entry in 2013. Applications are sought from exceptionally well-qualified individuals in accounting and finance, business & management and economics. The studentship is open to home/EU and international applicants. Only fulltime applicants are eligible. Existing Glasgow PhD students will not be considered. The full-time studentship lasts for three years. The holder will receive an annual bursary of £13,943(tbc); payment of full fees at the UK/EU/International rate; support for conference attendance and additional research expenses (£750 per year).

Graduate Teaching Assistantships :

Successful applicants may become Graduate Teaching Assistants . Appropriate training would be provided for this purpose.

Applicant Requirements:

Potential applicants should have a minimum of a 2.1 undergraduate degree and have/expect to achieve a Masters degree with excellent grades in a relevant subject from a UK university or comparable qualifications from another recognised university. Students whose first language is not English must have an IELTS score of 7.0, with no sub-test less than 6.5.

Application Procedure:

The scholarship will be judged on your formal application for PhD studies in Glasgow. The PhD application must be submitted to the College of Social Science Graduate School and be completed by 17:00, Wednesday, on April 17, 2013. Only complete applications will be considered. The PhD application is only complete once you have uploaded:

1. Your Research Proposal (must not exceed a maximum of five pages)

2. Two references (written in English, signed and printed on official headed paper)

3. Degree certificates and academic transcripts in English

4. English language certificate for students whose first language is not English. The minimum English requirement is IELTS 7.0, with no subtest less than 6.5 In addition to the PhD application you must also email Christine Athorne ([email protected]) stating that you wish to be considered for the studentship and forwarding your system generated application confirmation email, which will contain your applicant number. You must also do this before 17:00, Wednesday, on April 17, 2013. Applicants will be notified by June 30, 2013.
