In yet another dismal performance, Karnataka has managed a pass percentage of only 27.98% in the June-July 2011 II PU supplementary exams.
The only solace is that it is the highest pass percentage recorded in the past 10 years.
Of the 2,49,657 students who took the exam, 69,865 have passed.
The Arts stream saw the maximum number of students taking the exams and also clocked the highest pass percentage (32.5%) this year.
The pass percentage in Science and Commerce streams were 17.05% and 29.44% The results will be announced in all PU colleges on Wednesday.
The results are comparitively better for girls (33.11%) as against boys (24.73%). Students in rural areas fared better than those in the city.
As always, Udupi (45.23%) showcased the best performance among districts while Raichur (20.69%) was the underperformer.
The number of malpractice cases had come down this year with 390 students caught copying as compared to previous years.
