Results of Orissa matriculation examinations will be announced on June 25. The Board of Secondary Education, which conducted the examination in March will declare the results at 9.30 am across the state, board president Satyakam Mishra said on Monday.
Printed copies of the result booklets would be available at 33 centres across the state. The board has printed at least 5,000 result booklets this year. Students can also access their results online, through mobile phones and SMSes. At least 4.86 lakh students had appeared for the examination this year.
"Many a times students face difficulty in knowing their results as the server slows down due to too many queries. So for the benefit of students, steps have been taken to make the results available on at least five websites. Similarly, we have provided nine SMS numbers through which the students can know their results," said Mishra. Like always, the top 100 list of students would also be published this year.
He further stated that for the first time students will get their marksheet along with their original certificate within seven days of publication of results.
The original certificate would bear the photograph of the examinees too. Earlier, students used to get the original certificate almost a year after declaration of results. Board officials have claimed that the original certificates will be despatched to the respective schools by June 30.
Board officials have claimed that extra efforts were made to make the results completely error free. "This time we are providing original certificates to students along with their marksheet. Any error in the result would spoil the certificate. Hence, we have taken every step to make the results completely error-free," said Mishra. Over 14,000 teachers were involved in the evaluation of answer sheets. The matriculation exam had begun from March 16 and concluded on March 29. This year the board had booked around 7,000 students for malpractice.
