Pupils score well in NET

Students of the Tricity scored well in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC).

The results were declared on Monday evening. About 12,000 students appeared for the exam and about 664 qualified. There were about 3 lakh pupils from across the country who took the test.

The total number of students who qualified Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is 174 while candidates who cleared the NET is 490.

R K Mahajan, one of the teachers who prepared the students for the exam, said the result this year was better as compared to the past few years. Around 5.53% students passed the exam, which is over 3% more than those who cleared the previous test, he said.
