The wait for the results of secondary school certificate examination continues. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has not made any announcement about the exact date on which the results will be declared as yet. The board’s chairman Ujwaladevi Patil said, “Work on compilation of results is going on. We will announce it at the right time.” She refused to respond to queries on possible dates of the result. Last year, the results were announced on June 17.
The board is expected to load the results online for the second time in a row. The facility was introduced last year to make the admission process faster. A week after the online results are announced, the board will issue the mark sheet for students at their respective schools. Ragini Hariprakash, parent of a student who has appeared for the SSC examination, said, “We expected the results around June 10 since it is online. However, there is suspense about the date. We are waiting to know how our child has performed.”
Mahesh Joshi, another parent, said that it was a crucial year and career decisions had to be made. “We are waiting for the board to announce the results. There is excitement and nervousness as my elder daughter was in the merit list when she gave her SSC exam. This time, there will not be any merit list, but we are excited nevertheless,” he said. There will be no announcement of the names of aggregate toppers in the state or in eight divisions of Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik and Latur. Last year, the established practice followed for decades while declaring the HSC and SSC results was discarded to reduce the stress associated with board exams
