Candidates who studied in schools in Andhra Pradesh bagged seven out of the first 10 ranks, including the first three, in VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2011, conducted by the VIT University on April 16 for admission to 3,570 seats in 13 B.Tech programmes on Vellore and Chennai campuses.
Briefing reporters here on Thursday, G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT, said that the first rank was bagged by Kode Harsha Vardhan of Rajahmundry, the second rank by Burle Sai Kiran of Hyderabad and third rank by Makkuva Ashok Vardhan of Vizianagaram. The other seven rank-holders are: 4th —Nikhil Gupta (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh); 5th — Immadi Prudhvi Tej (Dwaraka Tirumala, A.P.), 6th — Ankit Patel (New Delhi); 7th — Rohan Sandeep Prinja (Pune, Maharashtra); 8th — Mukka Dheeraj Chakravarthi (Nizamabad, A.P.); 9th — Putha Preetham Sai Sreenivas (Khammam, A.P.); 10th — Ayush Kanodia (hailing from Kolkata, but studied in Vijayawada, A.P.).
Rohan Jaishankar from Chennai, who obtained the 52nd rank, was the first among the top ten from Tamil Nadu.
Brian Mark Lee from Ida Scudder School, who secured the 2,252nd rank is the first among the top 12 rank-holders from Vellore.
