The city has no reason to rejoice the CA final result. Only two students from Jaipur centre managed to make it to the top 50 and they are Neha Mittal and Himanshu Vijay. This year, Jaipur centre has failed to make a mark at the national level despite a rise in the number of students. The only saving grace is that the overall pass percentage is more than the national pass percentage.
Mittal said, "Consistent hardwork has yielded results. It is not easy to maintain same performance in all three stages of the exam. It requires expert advice and intense revision and thorough practice on model test series to get acquainted with the paper." She bagged 31st position and obtained 529 out of 800. Vijay secured 35th berth with 524 marks.
"In Jaipur centre, of 2759 students who appeared for CA final exam, 658 successfully cleared the hurdle. This year, the overall passing percentage has improved in all three categories of exams-Both, I-group and II-Group is 23.84% aganist 21.8% the national pass average putting all categories together," said Ram Manohar, chairman, ICAI adding that this is among the toughest exams and still position of state is better than many states in terms of national average.
Nationally, 1,29,565 students appeared and 28,338 students cleared the exam with a national average of 21.8%. "The overall performance of Jaipur is better than the national average," said Manohar. Last year, five students made it to the top 50 list. "Among the successful candidates, the ratio of those coming from rural background has increased manifold. So far, we have not compiled the data but an initial leads suggest that percentage of girls have also increased.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has declared Common Proficiency Test - entrance test for CA exam on Monday. Contrary to the CA final result, Rajasthan students have done fairly well compared to other states.
Aviral Shrimal of Jaipur stood second in the country. He has obtained 192 out of 200. "I have missed first position by a whisker. I will work hard and will eye for the first position in the second and CA final," said elated Shrimal. Another student, Swati Panjwani bagged 6th in the national ranking.
This year, 1,11,961 students appeared in the national level CPT exam and 30,305 students cleared the tests. The pass percentage was 27.07%. Those who have cleared the CPT will appear for the second stage Integrated Professional Competence course. Further the successful students will appear in CA final.
