Mahatma Gandhi University has published its revaluation results in record time.
The university, which had been strafed for delay in publishing results, has evaluated 2,089 answer scripts of the B.Tech sixth semester (supplementary), seventh semester and eighth semester (regular) examinations in 30 days.
Recently, Kerala High Court had directed universities to publish results within 45 days from the last date for applying for revaluation. The court had also warned that teachers or officers responsible for the delay would face contempt of court proceedings if they failed to publish results within the deadline. It had said that 45 days was the outer time limit and revaluations should be completed earlier if possible.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Rajan Varughese said Mahatma Gandhi University had completed the revaluation of all the answer scripts for which students applied for re-valuation in their B.Tech exam results published on August 27. The last date for submission of application for revaluation was September 10, he said.
Dr. Varughese said the speedy revaluation was the outcome of the time-bound work and dedication of the staff in the examination branch. The B.Tech tabulation and revaluation sections and examination monitoring cell co-ordinated the entire activities within the deadline prescribed, he said.
About 2,089 answer scripts of 1,386 applicants were valued, of which 1,842 revaluation result memos were sent to the applicants. 81 answer scripts were to be sent for second valuation and 166 memos are under preparation. The remaining works will be completed by the last week of October.
University authorities said prime importance was given to Lok Ayukta and high court judgments related to revaluation.
