The Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) helped the school achieve this new high. Of a total of 342 students, 201 got 10 CGPA,". This is the second class X CBSE exams under the CCE. While Chennai region came out on top with 99.45% pass percentage, Delhi, in seventh position, improved its pass percentage by 2.07% over last year to 97.92%.
Public schools in Delhi region improved their pass percentage to 98.78% from 97.92% in 2011. The pass percentage of government and aided schools remained largely unchanged.
With CBSE replacing the marks system with grades in class X under the CCE scheme, the CGPA and A1 grades have become the new parameters for comparison of results. In all, 5,086 students from Delhi scored 10 CGPA.
Majority of the students from Kendriya Vidyalayas and public schools have scored 7 CGPA and above; 353 students from the KVs and 4,449 students from public schools scored a perfect 10 CGPA.
Arvinder Singh, state education minister, said, though the pass percentage of government schools stood at over 99% for the second consecutive year, majority of the students from government and aided schools score 6.8 CGPA and below. "With over 99% pass percentage again this year, we have reached a benchmark. Now the important thing is to maintain it". This year, 57,000 students appeared in the class X exams in Delhi government schools compared to 45,000 last year.
