The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati has invited applications from interested, eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme for the commencing academic session

Eligibility criteria for IIT Guwahati

Ph.D in Engineering: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences/Veterinary Sciences/Pharmacy in a relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60 percent of marks.

Ph.D in Design: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding M.Arch/M.Des degree or M.Tech/ME degree in a relevant area, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60 percent of marks.

Ph.D in Science: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's degree in Engineering/Technology/Design in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60 percent of marks.

Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences: The candidates interested in applying for this programme must be holding a Master's degree in Arts/Commerce/Science in a relevant area with at least 55 percent of marks or equivalent.

Selection procedure for IIT Guwahati

On the basis of performance in GATE/ NET/ CEED/ INSPIRE, grades/marks in the qualifying examination, the candidates will be called for a written test and/or an interview/portfolio review.
