On September 28, Gandhi Institute of Management and Technology, Kolkata, hosted their fifth annual function, at the Eastern Zone Cultural Centre, Salt Lake. The occasion was graced by the presence of R K Mishra, former president of FHRAI and president, Mishra’s Hotels and Restaurants Pvt Ltd, Debasish Jana, mayor in council, Bidhannagar municipality and Krishna Chakraborty, chairperson, Bidhannagar municipality.
The students put up a number of dance and musical performances to make the event lively and energetic, which was followed by a fashion show along traditional lines. The grand finale was a special performance by Ujjaini and Mallar of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame who got the audience humming along to their tunes.
“I have been closely associated with this institution, and I congratulate GIMT on this special occasion,” said R K Mishra, the chief guest for the evening, in his address to a packed auditorium. “The Institution started with just one stream and now it has grown to 14 in just 11 years. It’s a commendable job,” added Mishra.
Shurojit Dasgupta, principal, GIMT Kolkata, concluded the event by thanking the attendees of the function and encouraging the students to keep working hard to make the institution, their parents, and the nation proud.
