Karunya University will conduct its sixth convocation on August 20th at the new Auditorium in the University campus at 2:00PM.
Guest of honour of the day would be Stewart Beck, High Commissioner for Canada in India who will deliver the convocation address accompanied by Dr.Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor, Karunya University who will preside over the function and distribute the certificates to the students.
Totally, 2097 students (UG 1138, PG-928, M.Phil- 26, Ph.D.-5 ) having successfully completed MBA, MCA, B.Tech, B.Ed,, M.Ed., M.Sc. and M.Tech will be awarded degrees. 255 Gold coins will be presented to the subject toppers.
On this occasion, Karunya will honour Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Distinguished Scientist & Chief Controller Research & Development Defence Research and Development Organisation, Government of India, Ministry of Defence with an Honorary Degree of D.Sc. and Mr. Jerome R. Konecsni, Director General, Plant Biotechnology Institute National, Research Council of Canada (NRC-PBI), Saskatoon, Saskatchewan will be conferred the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy.
This is the sixth batch of students graduating after Karunya attained Deemed to be University status.
On the day, SEESHA and graduating students of the university volunteer to donate motorized tricycles, tri-cycles, hearing aids, crutches, etc to the specially abled persons.
