Job fair for educated unemployed youths in Bengal

The West Bengal Government today announced a two-day "Job Assistance Fair" to facilitate educated unemployeds find employment in IT and ITeS companies.
With the initiative of state IT department, the fair would be organised by NASSCOM and WEBEL to provide the unemployed youths of Bengal, who have passed engineering with at least 65 per cent marks and in general discipline with 45 per cent marks during the year 2009 and 2010, state IT Minister Debesh Das said announcing it.
 
The students would be able to face 30 major IT companies, including IBM, PWC, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant and Genpact, through intervews on February 4 and 5 at Salt Lake Stadium on production of bio-data, four copies of photographs
and other documents in original, Das said.
   
The minister said that the IT sector had already employed about 1.05 lakh youths, which would rise to 1.30 by March, this year and about 2 lakh by this year-end.
   
The offer has been made to those who passed out in 2009 and 2010 as students during these two years faced most problems due to recession.
