Warning to Scouts and Guides
An ex service man in Tamil wrote to the Union Home Ministry was Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) to rectify their uniform immediately. Stitching National Flag in their dress is a violation of locus governing National Flag.
Kannan Govindarajalu, an ex service man from Kancheepuram complained in writing to the ministry referring hat Scouts uniform had the National Flags stitched to the shirt with the badge. The prevention of insults to National Honour Act (PINHA) govern the use of national symbols, gives citizens the permission to wear the flag on any dress above the waist. But the flag should be detachable. Embroidering or stitching the flag on the dress is an offence and an insult to te flag.
