Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SVIMS) is organising ‘Evolve,’ a national conclave on retail and e-commerce at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai on May 16 and 17. With an objectives to discuss the emerging trends in retail and e-commerce, the event will also focus on the policies affecting retail and e-commerce, role of customer relationship management and supply chain in retail and need for training in these areas and the future of retail and e-commerce.
The conclave will facilitate information dissemination on retail and e-commerce amongst the small and medium enterprises and retailers along with young retail professionals, from leading retailers and e-commerce professionals in this sector. Some of the key speakers at the event are, Kishore Biyani, Future Group; Jaitirth Rao, executive chairman VBHC; Vineet Gautam, country head, Vero Moda, Only and Jack and Jones; Niraj Hedaoo, director, e-commerce, Rediff, and N Muralidharan, CEO, NSE Infotech Services.
Manjunath, director general, SVIMS, said, “India being a vast country of skewed developers which is fair in urban areas but weak in hinterland, will have to overcome various hurdles such as an established and efficient supply chain management system, advance customer service and related standard management while identifying high human resources to fill the vast requirements and also understanding the ramifications of the contemporary retail’s impact on the traditional Indian retail. This seminar is an attempt to create awareness and raise the issues which are pertinent to the current social, cultural and the economic dynamics within India.”
