Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair said,lack of effective parenting and facilitating were the main hurdles restrcting the successful upbringing of young generation to mainstream area.
'Despite completing higher level of college education, students of India fail to make a noteworthy contribution while competing with other academic professionals worldwide,' he said inaugurating a three-day international conference on 'Grassroot Social Development' here.
Able and efficient facilitators with the urge of discovering better horizon of education are seen very less nowadays which adversely affect the academic system of our country, he said.
In the coming years, the main challenge in education will be the application of the term 'employability' in the right sense with ample practical exposure', he said.
The conference, attended by over 200 delegates, was organised by the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) in association with Calicut University and Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Youth Development.
