Kashiyatra-13, the annual cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), commenced with preliminary rounds of dance competition (Natraj) on Thursday.
Students from around 15 colleges participated in various solo, group, and folk dance events. While the formal inauguration of the fest was held in Swatantrata Bhawan in the afternoon, the day also witnessed the preliminary rounds of Indian music and Vaad Yudhh. Skit, mime, mono acting, fine arts events were held throughout the day. In later half of the day, eminent poets enthralled the audience in Kavi Sammelan.
According to general secretary, cultural wing, IIT-BHU, Chandra Prakash Sipani, a street painting event 'Silly Street' will be held today along with literature festival, fashion shows, creative writing, model united nations (MUN), and other events.
