The one-year executive programme offered by the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will host its first alumni meet this year.
Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX), which was launched in 2006 to produce senior level executives, will see alumni and the current batch share a common ground during ConneXion an annual event organized by PGPX students. ConneXion will be held on November 2 and 3, 2012.
Pranab Agarwal, alumni representative and member of the organising committee for ConneXion, said, about 60-80 people graduate from the PGPX batch every year. So, we thought that this was a good time to put together an alumni meet. It will be an informal networking event with special event for the alumni.
The current batch is the seventh and the number of graduates will exceed 500 this year.
The theme for the event this year will be Rejuvenating India-Role of the Corporate Sector .
ConneXion is an attempt to drive industry interaction with academia. It is a platform to bring together the imminent personalities, thought leaders and policy makers to debate the contemporary issues facing corporate leaders and public policy makers. The event will include a 5 kilometre run within the campus and also host X-Biz, an economic war game with simulation.
Students have invited 25-30 chief executive officers from various companies across India to be a part of this event. There will be panel discussions during the day and the evening will be reserved for networking and interacting with the alumni, said Agarwal.
PGPX is a full-time residential program for executives with substantial work experience.
