University of Kerala Platinum Jubile celebration

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate on March 23 the platinum jubilee celebrations of the University of Kerala.

Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb would preside over the inaugural ceremony to be held at the renovated Senate Hall. While the Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan would deliver the keynote address, the head of the royal family of erstwhile Travancore Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma would felicitate the former Vice-Chancellors J.V. Vilanilam, N. Babu, B. Ekbal and M.K. Ramachandran Nair.

The renovated Senate Hall would be inaugurated by Finance Minister K.M. Mani. After the inaugural ceremony, the winners of various competitions at the Kerala University Youth Festival would put up a cultural show. This would be followed by a magic show led by magician Gopinath Muthukad. Entry to this programme would be free, a press note issued here said.
