This weekend will see an exodus of students from all over India as NIT Kozhikode is going to host two major fests, Tarang 2012 — a management fest, and Nakshatra — the techno fest of NIT MCA department.
Altogether, about 1,000 students from other NITs and colleges from various parts of the country will arrive at the NIT campus from February 17 to 20. Another major characteristic is that Tarang 2012 will be the first fest organised by the NIT’s School of Management Studies in Kozhikode since its inception three years ago.
“We have received a good response from other colleges. Registration has been started, and already 50 colleges have contacted us. We expect above 200 students to participate in the event,” said Jose Pius, event coordinator.
While Tarang is the first fest by the future managers, Nakshatra, the techno fest organised by MCA students boasts of a history of three years. “Last year, about 500 students participated from other colleges.
We are expecting 70 colleges to participate in the event. Several NITs have registered with us already,” said Avinesh Saini, a coordinator.
