Jharkhand Tourism Minister Bimla Pradhan sought to remind Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay on his assurance to fund skill-training for 1500 students from the state.

"We have sent two letters to the union tourism department, reminding them about Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay's assurance to sanction funds to the state department for training of 1500 students under a central scheme to help them in employment," Pradhan told reporters here.

"The students future is in lurch following non-receipt of funds from the Centre. Our first letter to them was sent on July 7 this year, and the reminder was dispatched on October 1. We hope they will sanction the funds as promised," she added.

The students are equally pided into 750 each for training in the department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BIT, Mesra) and Indian School of Management, Pundag respectively.

"Our department has already sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for training of students," she added.
