The Central University of Jharkhand announced to go for a global tender to set up a sprawling infrastructure on the outskirts of Ranchi, hours after the Arjun Munda cabinet approved 319 acre land for the institution.

Out of the total 500 acres required to set up the sprawling campus, 330 acres are government land while the rest has to be acquired from villagers, Vice Chancellor D T Khating said here.

The state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Arjun Munda, approved 319 acres of government land at Kanke Block in Ranchi district, according to Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swaroop.

With the approval of the land, the university would start the process of setting up the infrastructure with global tender, Khating said.

The land is spread over Sukuruhutu-Cheri-Manatu areas on the outskirts of the state capital, he added.
