IGNOU said it has signed an agreement with hiring firm Aspiring Minds Assessment Private Limited to create more job opportunities for its students.

The objective of the MoU is to showcase the "Employable Talent Pool" of IGNOU through a customised employability assessment test, called the IGNOU-AMCAT Test, followed by an opportunity to be placed through an available recruitment platform called the I-AMPEAR for its students, the university said in a release.

According to this MoU, Aspiring Minds will develop an assessment and placement portal and carry out the IGNOU-AMCATs for job aspirants from all courses the university offers.

The hiring firm will also conduct psychometric-based personality profiling and mapping of each student and share their assessment scores with top firms, broadening their scope of employment, the release said.

At present, this is a pilot project meant for selected regional centers while it will soon be converted into a pan India project with subsequent addition of more courses.

"Based on the inputs received from the Aspiring Minds, we will communicate all our regional centres, study centres and students about the AMCAT and I-AMPEAR programmes to facilitate online registration of students for assessment," said Indu Uprety, Deputy Director of IGNOU's Campus Placement Cell.

"Students will be provided the IGNOU-AMCAT registration  rms in the study material packets. IGNOU computer labs at
its regional and study centers shall be used to facilitate the assessments," Uprety said.

Himanshu Aggarwal, Director of Aspiring Minds, said his firm will design, deploy and assist the portal and provide every candidate a detailed employability feedback. There will be 16 to 18 assessment cycles annually conducted for a period of three years of IGNOU students, he added.
