Updated on: Friday, September 23, 2011

Premier B-school XLRI Jamshedpur has set up a behavioural lab in its campus that will allow researchers to explore into the minds of prospective consumers and study behavioural trends.

The lab will be available for use across all functional disciplines of the XLRI comprising the faculty, fellow researchers and post-graduate students.

"The lab is aimed at providing students and teachers with cutting-edge research tools designed to peer into the unconscious mind — said to influence consumer choices — and study behavioural trends.

"Several research projects, in the fields of behaviour studies, organisational behaviour studies, economic, finance and HRM can be conducted at the lab," said a statement.

The lab has chalked out plans to establish a consumer panel of over 3,000 people from different walks of life. The panel will include people both from urban and rural parts of Jamshedpur and East Singhbhum district, it said.

Jamshedpur, a cosmopolitan city with a population of over 14 lakh has a literacy rate 83 per cent and is a home to several industrial giants.
