GITAM University here has received A grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), according to a press release from the university on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam presided over a “success meet” held on the campus to celebrate the university getting the top ranking from the NAAC. He credited the achievement to the combined efforts of the faculty and students and reiterated that the journey to excellence would continue.
“GITAM University is one of the young universities of the country and it is a great achievement to receive the A grade from NAAC, and A grade indicates that our university has been put in the “very good” category as far as the grading of the universities done by the NAAC”, Prof. Subarmanyam said. The grade was valid for five years and GITAM would improve the grade in future with new initiatives and there were also plans to get international accreditation for the university, he said.
Vice-Chancellor D. Harinarayana, Registrar M. Potharaju, principals and deans of all GITAM institutes participated in the meeting.
