NIIT, a global talent development corporation and IT trainer, felicitated students from across West Bengal who successfully earned GNIIT certification over the last six months. The students were felicitated in the presence of Bratya Basu, minister of higher education, Government of West Bengal and Srinjay Bose, member of parliament, along with G Raghavan, chief executive, Career Building Solutions, NIIT and Surojit Biswas, vice president, NIIT.

Over the last 5 years, about 2,800 students from Kolkata alone and nearly 1,500 students from the rest of the state have earned GNIIT qualification from NIIT. Successful candidates have been placed in leading corporate houses across India like CITIBANK, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Cap Gemini, etc. At present, West Bengal has more than 37 NIIT centres with over 120 internationally certified faculty.

NIIT now offers new-age GNIIT programmes to students based on cloud campus technology. The pioneering NIIT Cloud Campus TM empowers a student to learn on his own terms, at his own pace, wherever and whenever he wants it. Students enjoy higher mobility as they can easily access educational services using a Netbook and a Mobile device that connects them to NIIT’s Cloud Campus network. These services will be managed by NIIT centrally, using the power of Cloud Computing.

Furthermore, the technology-backed learning environment of NIIT’s Cloud Learning Methodology supports group learning through interactive features like 24x7 lab and e-library access, instant tech updates, interaction with faculty and peers and access to online video streams. Thus the learning process is not just limited to textbooks but is enhanced through group learning.

With recruitments in over 3000 companies, the GNIIT programme gives a jump-start to students’ careers. NIIT students have started their careers in leading organisations like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, IBM etc.
