Gujarat to foster entrepreneurship amongst youth

Gujarat CM Narendra Modi launched an International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate), to encourage youths to turn entrepreneurs, which will be guided by Infosys Chairman Emeritus N R Narayan Murthy.

Gandhinagar: Gujarat CM Narendra Modi launched an International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate), to encourage youths to turn entrepreneurs, which will be guided by Infosys Chairman Emeritus N R Narayan Murthy.
 
The centre of excellence (COE), with an incubation centre-iCreate- will come up on the outskirts of Ahmedabad and it shall be an autonomous body guided by an advisory board led by IT czar N R Narayan Murthy.
 
The centre shall work under the aegis of Gujarat Foundation of Entrepreneurial Excellence (GFEE).
 
"iCreate can be successful in Gujarat because the people here have the courage required for decision making," Modi said, pointing towards personality traits required to be a successful entrepreneur.
 
Narayan Murthy who addressed the gathering through video conferencing facility said, "India now has a certain level of confidence to solve the problem of poverty which can be best done by creating jobs and entrepreneurship is the best instrument to solve this problem,".
 
Murthy advised the youth that it would be best to look at ideas that could cater to a global market and if you cannot do that then it is advisable to benchmark yourself with the best global practices.
 
"The idea for new venture should be low cost. It should not be an expensive product," Murthy further said.
