Meet on information and communication systems security organised

Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in-charge Vice-Chancellor N.Prabhakara Rao underlined the need to take up researches on various methods and modern tools to prevent misusing of key data and communication systems by hackers.

Mr.Rao along with Prof.M.V.Ramana Murthy, Osmania University, VSU Registrar V.Narayana Reddy and College Development Council Dean Prof.T.Sudha inaugurated the two-day national conference on ‘Emerging trends in Information and Communication Systems Security', being organised by Department of Computer Science, VSU, at the university premises here on Saturday.

Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor said Internet, Computer Science and Information Technology have become a must for expansion in all major fields. All most all the companies, institutions and even the individuals are using technology for online money and business transactions, credit and debit cards through the Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs).

As the online operations are increasing by the day there is a need to find new gadgets to provide security for information and communication system, he said and asked the researchers to find out new tools to strengthen information and communication engineering.

‘Iinformation security using IRIS system', ‘mobile and wireless network security', ‘protected techniques in hacking', ‘protecting GIS data using cryptography and digital water marking' and other topics were discussed in the two-day seminar. Registrar V.Narayana Reddy congratulated the Computer Science department for organising the seminar in association with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

Mr.Ramana Kumar, the key note speaker for the inaugural function, said that systems should be built to sustain the changes with cost effectiveness and reliability.

He explained the faculty and students on wireless access protocols, neutral networks and presented an analysis on Android, based on Linux Kernel.

CDC Dean Prof.Sudha, who is the Head of Department of Computer Science said faculty, research scholars and students from various States submitted 77 papers on security in information and communication system, she said.
