In today's dynamic job market, membership of a professional organisation can be the one constant people can rely on for support throughout your career. So it's good to know, no matter where you are in your career, what challenges you are facing or where you want to be.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a professional society of engineering and technology provides such a platform. IET is one of the world’s largest multi-discipline professional societies of engineers and technicians, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and 3800 members in India.
IET is licensed from the Engineering Council, UK, to award the following professional engineering qualifications like Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech), ICT Technician (ICTTech.) IET membership gives you access to a comprehensive range of products and support services, which have been specifically developed to meet all your professional needs.
Put simply, it can make you more employable, help you perform better and raise your professional profile. The local presence of the IET is managed around the world by groups of IET members who come together to share knowledge; promote science, engineering and technology to the general public; and encourage membership of the IET. The IET is represented at a local level by nearly 100 local networks operating around the world. Local activities like events, workshops, surveys, white papers etc. are organised and promoted by a group of volunteers from the local network committee or management team. The network committee works with the staff support team and the relevant regional board which is responsible for allocating budget to local IET activities, to develop an annual activity plan and budget.
