China-Pak MoU on providing vocational training for Pak youth

China will provide financial support worth USD one lakh for over 200 Pakistani youth as part of an MoU between the two countries on programmes for vocational training.
 
Pakistan and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which it has been agreed that the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) would provide assistance for vocational training to Pakistani youth.
 
The MoU was signed by the Federal Minister and the Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja and Secretary General of CFPD, Xu Zhensui, here.
 
The MoU envisages that both countries shall carry out the programme of "China-Pakistan Friendship Scholarship", Pakistan's state-run APP news agency reported.
 
The scholarship with a total value of USD one lakh from CFPD will be provided to 200-300 qualified Pakistani young people belonging to BISP beneficiary families, to help them attend a 3-month long vocational training course to be arranged under a government employment initiative in Islamabad.
 
A formal agreement on this would be signed in September when a delegation of senior Chinese leaders will visit Pakistan.
 
It was also discussed during the meeting that Chinese corporation working in Pakistan would be urged to employ labour trained under this programme, the report said.
