Sibal: Consensus on phasing out class X board exam

New Delhi: Talking about his 100 days agenda to reform educational system in India, Kapil Sibal, Union Human Resource Development Minister (HRD) said, "No reform can take place till we have consensus on the issues, especially phasing out class X board exam."

"Before making standard X exam optional, Goverment will talk to parents, students, teachers and school management. If everything goes with the plan, it will be implemented by 2010 in CBSE schools.

He also said a uniform national board for standard XII is not in my agenda.

Sibal has recently announced his 100 days agenda to reform educational system in the country. In his agenda, he mentioned to phase out class X examination board and create a single national board for standard XII.
