Students take pledge to work for nuclear-free world

The Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal along with NSS Units of SNDT and Mumbai University held an Anti-Nuclear Peace March to commemorate Hiroshima Day.
 
The march was organised with a view to join hands with the people of the world for a nuclear-free world and to create social awareness among students about the holocaust of nuclear armaments, T R K Somaiya of the Mandal said.
 
The peace march commenced from Azad Maidan and concluded at Hutatma Chowk. A pledge was taken by the entire gathering to work for peace and a nuclear-free world.
 
About 2,500 NSS volunteers from 70 colleges of SNDT and Mumbai University, Gandhian workers, peace activists, advocates, journalists and NGOs participated in the march.
