HAU to cooperate with US varsity for agri-sector development

Haryana Agricultural University and University of Illinois, Urbana, USA will cooperate mutually for the speedier development of the agriculture sector as also for the capacity building of the faculty and students.
   
An agreement to this effect was reached here over a formal meeting of the US varsity delegation and HAU Vice-Chancellor, K S Khokhar and other senior officers.
   
The five member delegation of the varsity headed by team leader, Robert Hauser, Dean reached HAU for a day long visit.
   
In a meeting chaired by Khokhar, detailed deliberations were held on globally emerging problems of agriculture, a HAU release said here.
   
On the basis of mutual deliberations, a consensus was developed to enhance mutual relations by developing a practical strategy for the speedier development of agriculture and human resources.
   
In the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by the Vice-Chancellor and Robert Hauser.
   
Khokhar said that HAU was committed towards all round development of agriculture and related sectors.
   
He said that varsity scientists have generated a number of useful technologies, crop hybrids which can be grown successfully under varied agro-climatic conditions and high yielding varieties which have been applauded at the national level.
