BSNL partners with IGNOU to support Education and Training

State-run telecom company BSNL and national Open University IGNOU signed an agreement to push various activities related to education and training in India.
   
Under the agreement Bharat Sanhar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will work together on  national missions of government.
   
They include the National Knowledge Network (NKN), National Mission in Education through ICT (NME-ICT), National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) to promote their objectives.
   
BSNL will provide technology network for these national missions while the content and technology enhanced learning solutions would come from IGNOU.
   
To begin with, both parties are considering to offer BSNL telecom training courses for engineering colleges and offer the same as joint IGNOU-BSNL programmes leading to certificates and diplomas.
   
Both will jointly offer a range of education services through deployment of Vedyadhara Open Learning Environment (V-OLE) suite of systems, streaming video and IP-TV services system.
   
Vedyadhara is used for all IGNOU courses. It employs technology enhanced learning practices to integrate the growing volume of web-access content and resources
