More engineering colleges come up in TN

23 new engineering colleges have been accredited by AICTE for 2011-12 academic year recently.

With this, the total number of engineering colleges of Tamilnadu has been increased to 507. In the last academic year, 484 engineering colleges were functioning in the state. But for the 2011-12 academic year, applications from more than 100 institutions and colleges were received by AITCE for getting approval of opening new engineering colleges.

As the verification process is going on, so far approval has been given for 23 new colleges to start functioning from this academic year. Further, more colleges are expected to be included.
