Oxford University invites Gavaskar & Ganguly for lecture

Kolkata: Former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly is now all set to lecture at the University of Oxford.

As part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Centenary Celebrations, Ganguly along with cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar and former ICC President, Jagmohan Dalmiya, has been invited by the ICC as guest lecturers for the 'Centenary History Conference' at the University of Oxford.

The one-day conference, to be held on 22 and 23 July at St Antony's and St John's Colleges at the varsity, will also feature cricketing greats Clive Lloyd, Angus Fraser and Bob Willis.

The conference is set to bring together former ICC presidents, alongside former and current players, historians and commentators on the game of cricket. The conference is a look back and celebration of the last 100 years of cricket.

ICC President David Morgan along with Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat will also attend the conference.

Current ICC Women's World Cup holders England will be represented by Ebony Rainford-Brent and Wisden Cricketer of the Year Claire Taylor, who will take part in a panel discussion on the progress of women's cricket alongside former England captain Rachael Heyhoe-Flint.

The conference also features a number of prominent cricketing historians including Professor Hilary Beckles, Gideon Haigh, David Frith, Dr Boria Majumdar and Mihir Bose.
