UP Unani college now part of LU

State-run Unani College of Medicine will be affiliated to the University of Lucknow from the 2011 academic session.

The college was affiliated to the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur since 1972.

The college, known as Rajkiya Takmil ut Tib College evum chikitsalaya, has 40 seats which are allotted through the combined pre-medical test.

Principal Mohd Sikander Hayat expressed happiness over the change. On why a need for the change was felt, officials said that a local university will be able to manage the affairs of the college in a better way.
