Call to retain glimpses of culture in filmmaking

Filmmaker Jayaraj has called upon budding directors and media professionals to uphold and retain glimpses of their culture in artistic life.

He was inaugurating the college day and launching the academic activities of the St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC) here on Friday. Mr. Jayaraj also said that a dedicated artist should be able to withstand obstacles and setbacks that come by his/her way and transform them into stepping stones of success. Archbishop of Changanassery Mar Joseph Perumthottom, while delivering presidential address, urged the students to maintain and uphold ethical standards in media profession.

Sebastian Punnassery, SJCC executive director, welcomed the gathering. SJCC Manager Joseph Naduvilezham, Academic Chairman John Sankaramangalam, Principal Wilson Kottam, and president of the SJCC Trust Joseph Kurinjiparampil also spoke on the occasion. SJCC director Antony Ethackad proposed a vote of thanks. A candle light-oath taking ceremony of the passing-out batch and a welcome programme for the new batch were also conducted. It was followed by various cultural performances by the students.
